D.I.Y. Install Guide
✅ Important: All sensors in this kit have already been connected to your system.
You do NOT need to program them.
What you’ll do: Power on → Mount devices → Install the app → Install cameras (if included)
Then call us to activate and test.
Before You Start
Please complete these steps first to avoid issues later.
✅ Open the box and make sure all listed equipment is included
✅ Have your smartphone available
✅ You will need:
- A clean, dry surface for all sensors
- Ladder or step stool depending on desired height/placement (motion & smoke detectors)
STEP 1 – Power On & Mount the Main Panel (Qolsys IQ Panel 4)
Choose the Location
Place the panel:
- Near the main entry door
- At eye level
- Close to a power outlet
- In a location used daily
Do NOT place:
- Near vents or direct sunlight
Powering On the Panel
- Plug the power adapter into the back of the panel.
- Plug the adapter into the wall outlet.
- The panel will turn on automatically.
- Wait until the home screen loads (this may take a few minutes).
✅ Leave the panel plugged in at all times.
Wall Mounting the Panel
- Remove the mounting plate from the back of the panel.
- Hold it against the wall and mark screw holes.
- Install screws into the wall.
- Hang the panel on the plate and slide down until it locks.
(You may temporarily place the panel on a table while installing sensors.)
STEP 2 – Install the mySafetouch Mobile App
- Scan the QR code or search mySafetouch in the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app.
- Log in using the email address and password provided by Safety Touch.
- Confirm you can see your system home screen.
✅ Camera setup (if included) will be done inside this app later.
STEP 3 – Install Door & Window Sensors
(Adhesive mounting only)
Each sensor includes:
- Sensor (larger piece)
- Magnet (smaller piece)
Where to Place
✅ Install on the top corner of the door or window
✅ Sensor on the frame, magnet on the moving part
✅ When closed, pieces must be within ½ inch of each other
Test Position BEFORE Sticking
- Hold both pieces in place.
- Open and close the door/window.
- Make sure they line up and nothing rubs or binds.
Mount Using Adhesive
- Clean mounting surfaces completely.
- Peel adhesive backing.
- Press firmly for 30 seconds.
- Wait 5 minutes before opening the door/window.
✅ Repeat for all doors and windows.
STEP 4 – Install Motion Detector
(Adhesive mounting only)
Where to Mount
✅ Height: 6–7 feet ✅ Location: Corner of room ✅ View: Walking paths across the room
Avoid:
- Facing windows
- Facing heating vents
- Facing stairs directly
Mounting
- Hold motion detector at mounting height.
- Confirm it has a clear view of the room.
- Peel adhesive backing.
- Press firmly to wall for 30 seconds.
✅ Motion works best detecting side‑to‑side movement.
STEP 5 – Install Smoke Detector
(Only if included — mounted with SCREWS)
Where to Install
✅ Ceiling preferred
✅ At least 12 inches from walls
✅ Outside bedrooms or living areas
Avoid:
- Bathrooms
- Garages
- Air vents or fans
Mounting
- Attach the mounting plate using screws.
- Twist the smoke detector onto the plate until secure.
- Do NOT test yet — testing happens during activation.
STEP 6 – Install Cameras (If Included)
Indoor Camera (ADC‑V523IR)
- Plug the camera into power.
- Place near your Wi‑Fi router.
- Open the mySafetouch app.
- Tap Menu → Add Device → Camera.
- Follow on‑screen steps to complete setup.
Doorbell Camera (ADC‑VDB780B – Battery)
- Attach the mounting bracket to the wall using screws.
- Slide the doorbell onto the bracket.
- Press and hold the doorbell button until the light flashes.
- Open mySafetouch app.
- Tap Menu → Add Device → Doorbell Camera.
- Follow on‑screen setup instructions.
⚠️ Keep the app open until setup finishes.
FINAL STEP – Call Safetouch for Activation
✅ Call us after everything is mounted and installed
We will:
- Activate your system
- Test every sensor and camera
- Confirm signals
- Answer any questions
