How do I reconnect my Skybell Camera

Reconnect Skybell Doorbell Camera

There are a few different reason why you'd need to reconnect your Skybell Doorbell Camera. This could be do to internet changes, (provider, router, Wi-Fi credentials). Insufficient network speeds causing the camera to fall offline. Or a prolonged period without power or internet. Please follow these simple steps to reconnect your camera. 

Please open your mySafetouch app: 

  1. Once you've opened your app, click on More on the bottom right corner. 
  2. Select Manage Devices
  3. Finder your doorbell camera (it will be named doorbell or whatever you chose to name it). Click on the 3 dots and delete the camera.
  4. Once deleted, your able to reinstall the doorbell camera. (Please take this time to log out and back into the app. 
    Click on More
  5. Click on Add Device
  6. Select Doorbell Camera
  7. Add Video Device (Select your model)
  8. The next page will read Install Hardware. (The device should already be installed. Just hit next)
  9. Verify LED Light (The doorbell camera needs to be flashing green and red. If not flashing green and red, hold the doorbell button down until it alternates green and red then immediately release.                                         
  10. Name Device (Give your camera a name and hit next)
  11. Connect to your Video Device (When the camera flashes green and red, it creates it's own Wi-Fi access point. 

If using an iPhone you'll need to go to your Wi-Fi settings on your device in order to connect to this network. If using an android device, you can connect to your Wi-Fi settings by clicking on the button in the app towards the bottom of the Connect to your Video Device page

      12. Once you've successfully connected to the Skybell network, hit next. You'll be taken to a Select Network page that will allow you to scan for your Wi-Fi  information and connect to your network. (you can also select set up manually for hidden networks)

         

 

      13. Select your Wi-Fi network then enter your Wi-Fi password. (Or click on Manual to enter your credentials). Then hit Next

         

Please ensure you're using the correct Wi-Fi credentials as you'll have to start the process over if the camera cannot connect. 

      14. Installation The camera will begin installing. It should start with 10% and progress to 20%. (20% is a clear indicator that your credentials are correct and you'll be able to successfully reconnect your camera.)
